Daryl D. Homer is the son of Daryl Homer Sr. and Juliette Smith... He is a member of the 2009 Junior World Championship Team... Daryl started fencing at age 11 after readin about the sport and wanted to give it a try... Winning the bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship is his favorite moment in fencing... Two-time Olympian Keeth Smart has had the biggest influence on Daryl's fencing career...Daryl is majoring in Marketing at St. John's University... He loves ethnic cuisine.

2009- Junior World Cup in Budapest, Hungary, 7th place

2009- Senior Grand Prix in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 15th place

2008- Junior World Cup in Sosnowiec, Poland, 5th place

How did you start fencing?
I read about it when I was young

What has been your favorite moment while fencing?
Making the Senior team at the Dallas Senior World Cup.

What is your motivation?
To be the best and win an Olympic gold medal.

Who has influenced your fencing career and how?
Keith Smart's work ethic.  He was truly one of the best in the world and I aspire to do the same.

What are your goals this year and in the future?
I would like to win Junior Worlds, and make this year's team.

How do you train?
Six times a week, 8 practices a week.

What are some of the biggest hurdles / challenges you've had to overcome in your fencing career?
I am small for a sabre fencer, but I make up for it with my speed.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I am very interested in photography.
